My fascination with sound design began with a high school reading of the futurist manifesto the “Art of Noises”.  Rather than technical gobbledygook, this essay really opened my eyes, or rather my ears, to the idea of crafting the sound experience to fit the modern sonic palette.  Sound experience is a reflection of the world in which we live in, or a way, at least, to play with our perceptions of it. Sound recorder in hand on a daily basis, I constantly add to my personal sound library, and finding the perfect sound to bring an onscreen action to life is the ultimate satisfaction.

My approach to sound design encompasses the total experience: in my work, it is a function of physics, mathematics, and psychology.  It is based on reality, and has strict rules and formulas, but it requires a major opening to interpretation and imagination.  My work extends across a spectrum of visual media, from feature films to interactive performances and video games.  This multi-disciplinary aspect of my career has me thinking quick and very effectively on my feet.  As a creative audio designer with international experience, I specialise in customized work flow solutions, experimental recording techniques, and rely on my very strong background in research and analysis permitting me, this way, to have an edge in understanding the bigger picture and at the same time, have the ability to get inside the head of the user, to understand his/her point of view and experience.
